Vampire: The Eternal Struggle Online is an online implementation of White Wolf's Vampire: The Eternal Struggle. It can only be played on the White Wolf Engine.
Vampire: The Eternal Struggle is a trading card game in which two or more players take on the roles of ancient vampires. These ancient vampires, known as Methuselahs, are considered mere legend by younger vampires. Younger Vampires think that they pursue their own ends... even as they're used by one Methuselah to destroy the influence of another.
Throughout the world, Methuselahs manipulate their minions to frustrate the designs of their enemies. These battles, sometimes covert and subtle, sometimes open and spectacular, are collectively known as the Jyhad. Caught in the throes of this never-ending war, the Methuselahs fight skirmish after skirmish in their eternal struggle.
Expansions
- Jyhad (1994). The limited edition of the base set of Vampire: The Eternal Struggle was released under this name. The Jyhad edition cards are compatible with the V:TES cards, although they have different designs on the backs of their cards. The set consists of 437 cards. Some cards in the Jyhad edition (Camille Devereux, Chainsaw, Concealed Weapon, Monocle of Clarity, Movement of the Slow Body, Rotschreck, and Rowan Ring) were not printed in the unlimited (V:TES) edition. Some others were renamed.
- Vampire: the Eternal Struggle (1995). The unlimited edition of the base set marked the change of the name of the game and card back design. The V:TES edition set contained a rewritten rulebook, and many of the cards were rewritten for clarity (and a few were rewritten for function - Fame was made unique, for example). The unlimited base set contains 436 cards. A few of the limited edition cards were not reprinted in the unlimited set, while a few new cards were introduced (Archon Investigation, Elder Intervention, Justicar Retribution, Protected Resources, Raven, and Shadow of the Beast).
- Dark Sovereigns (1995) is the first expansion set for Vampire: The Eternal Struggle, allowing players to include the elegant vampires, dark labyrinthine cities, and twisted vampire politics of Europe into their games. From the dark halls of Heidelberg Castle to the opulent rooms of the Palace at Versailles, the sinister designs of the eternal struggles are revealed with the grace and style of the Old Country.
- Ancient Hearts (October 1996), the second expansion for Vampire: The Eternal Struggle, reveals the tragic legacies of the Mediterranean Kindred. In forboding cities and mysterious tombs, the Kindred risk corruption and seek redemption. The vampires of the Camarilla pursue lost humanitas, but many of their enemies follow different paths. The assassins of Clan Assamite and the Followers of Set work to fulfill their own dreadful prophecies - one clan seeks to enslave the Camarilla; the other, to eradicate it.
- The Sabbat is the third expansion features 410 cards, some new and some re-printed from the base set. It also introduces the first Sabbat vampires to the card game, with corresponding new rules.
- Sabbat War (October 2000) This is a heavily-revised version of the Sabbat set and is released in booster packs and pre-constructed starter decks. There are four different starter decks, each containing a fixed selection of cards. The booster packs contain a random assortment of 11 cards from a pool of 300 cards. The preconstructed starters are built from this mix plus other cards to bring the total number of cards to 437. Sabbat War features new cards that tie the set directly to the Vampire Clan Novel series.
- Final Nights (June 2001) is the fifth expansion for Vampire: The Eternal Struggle, continues the development of the four independent clans introduced in the Dark Sovereigns and Ancient Hearts expansions. From Egypt to Italy, Romania to Arabia, these mysterious, manipulative, and deadly vampires maneuver quietly through the dark streets of ancient cities, drawn inevitably into the sinister plots that are the eternal struggle. Using the preconstructed starter decks (which include cards reprinted from the Dark Sovereigns and Ancient Hearts expansions), it can be played stand-alone, or you can mix the cards with other Vampire: The Eternal Struggle card sets to experience a wider world of darkness.
- Bloodlines (December 2001) is the third set from White Wolf for Vampire: The Eternal Struggle. It introduces the Ahrimanes, Baali, Blood Brothers, Daughters of Cacophony, Gargoyles, Harbingers of Skulls, Kiasyd, Nagaraja, Salubri, Salubri antitribu, Samedi, and True Brujah along with each faction's unique vampiric powers.
- Carmarilla Edition (August 2002) is the fourth set released by White Wolf for Vampire: The Eternal Struggle, is a new stand-alone edition of the base set. In addition, the set features 6 non-random preconstructed decks, Brujah, Malkavian, Nosferatu, Toreador, Tremere, and Ventrue, which contain even more cards and are designed to get beginning players started right away.

The cards are sold in two fixed-content collectible tins (each tin is designed to hold a complete VTES deck, 90 card library and 12 card crypt, in sleeves). Each tin contains all ten of the new cards and a fixed selection of 90 of the reprinted cards.
- Kindred Most Wanted (February 2005) is the eighth Vampire: The Eternal Struggle set released by White Wolf, this time with a focus on the four Independent clans as well as the Baali and the Gangrel antitribu. For added use in draft or sealed play, each rules card also doubles as a library card as indicated on the card when turned upside down. The library cards represented on the rules cards are chosen from previous sets for their general utility (that both vampires and imbued can use).
- Third Edition (September 2006), the eleventh expansion for Vampire: The Eternal Struggle, is a stand-alone base set. It is called Third Edition (after the Camarilla Edition, which is reckoned as the second edition). Each booster pack contains 11 cards randomly selected from a set of 390 cards consisting of 90 rares, 100 vampires, 100 uncommons, and 100 commons, including 136 new cards (100 vampires and 36 library cards).
