Troubleshooting Guide
From CCG Workshop Wiki
This document is a work in progress. It details common problems that have arisen in the past, and how to resolve them.
| Installing | |
|---|---|
| An error occurs when a patch is attempting to upgrade the gatlingEngine | Uninstall the gatlingEngine via your Add/Remove Programs Control Panel tool. Your decks and images will not be deleted. Download the latest full .msi or .exe and install into the same directory.
|
| Connections | |
| Error: "Unable to connect to server via HTTP" | The gatlingEngine makes a web request to the gatlingNet server to validate your credentials. Your computer is unable to connect via the web to the gatlingNet server because it is blocked on your end via a firewall, pop-up blocker, or router. Please configure to allow gatlingEngine.exe to access the web.] |
| Frequent Disconnections | Your connection to the gatlingNet server is being plagued by latency. Are you running software in the background that is taking up your bandwidth? For example, are you downloading a large file or running P2P software? |
| Immediate Disconnection from Server upon login | Your computer is unable to connect to the gatlingNet server via TCP/IP socket because it is blocked on your end via a firewall or router. Please configure to allow gatlingEngine.exe access through port 8080. |
| Unable to login after disconnect | If you suddenly disconnect it is possible for your connection thread on the server to not registered your drop from the socket connection. You will then be at the mercy of the connection timeout. Eventually your connection thread , after not receiving messages from your gatlingEngine, will time out, and the connection thread will close. After it closes, you will be able to log in again.
|
| Software Freezing | |
| Software freezes at point X after Selecting a Game | Some games require quite a bit of memory as they load. If your system has less than 512 MB, consider closing all programs before you run the engine. If you are really scraping, stop unneeded services.
screenNames with non-standard characters will cause the gatlingEngine to freeze. There is no fix planned at this time. Please create a screen Name using standard characters. Also, check your machine for spyware and viruses. |
