gatlingNet is a term used to describe the services used by the gatlingEngine to play hobby and strategy games online. It is the network of all connected gatlingEngines and the gatlingNet server. You use it to find and chat with other players, and play games against them.

The gatlingEngine relies completely on gatlingNet. Instead of peer-to-peer connections, gatlingNet is a client-server system, with gatlingNet being the central piece.

Your gatlingEngine sends messages to the gatlingNet server, which relays the message back to all connected clients.

Saved games are maintained on the gatlingNet server, but stored locally on your computer. gatlingNet keeps saved games 14 days. If you have not resumed a game in that timeframe, your game is purged.

gatlingNet also allows you to observe games in progress to become a spectator to the sport of online hobby and strategy games. Observing games provides you with a learning experience. You can quickly learn a game you have never played by observing two more experienced players go at it, and perhaps ask questions if the players don't mind!

BOT

The gatlingNet also consist of a simple BOT that answers some of the most common questions.
